DEATH AND THE FEAR OF NOT LIVING

Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Leader 121 – 180.

My biggest fear is always failing to do something meaning in my life, which is basically the same thing.

His thoughts or statements have been compared to those of Mahatma Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Martin Luther King Jr., Margret Thatcher, & Martin Luther.

BrainyQuote is a great site to find a thought about a specific subject or from a certain author, like Mark Twain or even Samuel Clemens.

Quotes Of St. Francis, the Dali Lama, & Marx, I Always Remember

Holy poverty confounds cupidity [overall greed, even for lust] and avarice [an overall greed and especially for power] and the cares of the world.

I’ve always idolized St Francis of Assisi.  When I finally fully attempted to live like him, even right where I lived in Missouri.  My life became much happier because I fully started depending on God.

I defeat my enemies when I make them my friends. Dali Lama

I am Christian, and one can easily correctly assume Catholic.  The Dali Lama, I easily believe, is Buddhist.

In my mind, it is safe to conclude that if your beliefs, practices, & overall life benefits from someone else’s philosophy, or action, while not disrupting any of your elements than it too can be safely followed.

Now if my dream for my manner of defeating my enemies is disrespected due to it’s origin. My response is simple.

The fact is in 1219 at the height of the crusades between the Muslim and Christian troops, the Sultan Malik Al Kamil and Saint Francis of Assisi meet. They experienced a very peaceful encounter.   The most notable outcome was “The Prayer of The Praises of God” by Saint Francis, which is said to have been inspired by the Muslims’ 99 Attributions of Allah.

Consequently, I trust my hero would agree with my conclusion in following the Dali Lamas’ advice.

Lastly, this too is not just the quote itself I try to follow, but also the author.

Did anyone actually think I meant Karl Marx?

If I can see a person is sad, depressed, or melancholy, I try to quote Groucho. One normally brings out a laugh. giggle, or simple smile.
